DISCOVER THE HISTORY OF THE CASTILLAN HOUSE

In 1993, Véronique & Xavier Castillan decided to settle in Herbelon and transform the land into an open air hotel.
This is when everything started to happen with the construction of a chalet snack bar, the layout of the site with tree hedges to delimit the pitches and the sanitary facilities with cabins.
The campsite was awarded its first star!
In 1997, we started to offer caravans for rent in order to improve the services offered.
In 1998/99 our restaurant "La Table du Campagnard" was built,
a swimming pool with a paddling pool and a new sanitary building.
The campsite was awarded 2 stars and obtained the "Camping Qualité" label.

The years went by and the campsite developed more and more, mobile homes arrived and were offered for rent to replace the caravans in order to improve the quality of services and comfort.
In 2003, the restaurant was enlarged in order to receive the campsite's clientele as well as local and visiting customers. Chef Xavier Castillan offers a home-made cuisine with fresh and local products, he was awarded the Maître Restaurateur label in 2013, and the Maître Restaurateur label was awarded to Véronique Castillan in 2017 for the quality of her service in the restaurant.
Each year the campsite continues to invest in new accommodation, renovate and improve its services.
Since then, the children have joined the family adventure in order to continue to develop the domain together.
In 2018, the creation of a wellness area "Summer Spa". In 2020/21 the renovation of the restaurant and bar and the creation of an ice cream parlour (Xavier Castillan has been making ice cream and sorbets in the Trièves since 2009).

In 2022 the campsite will get its 4th star!
Our project to redevelop the campsite will finally see the light of day!
New mobile homes and lodge tents for rent, redevelopment of the camping pitches, a camping car area on the land adjoining the campsite, a new restaurant terrace...
2023 is a special year
the campsite is getting a makeover and celebrating its 30th anniversary!
